Traditional ruler charges govt on roads
Prominent traditional ruler in Osun State, the Akesin of Ora-Igbomina, Ifedayo Council Area, Oba Samuel Oladoye Idowu, has called the attention of the state government to the deplorable condition of the Ora to Oke-Ila Road.
The Akesin, who made the call while answering questions from Community News during a telephone chat, said the road has become impassable due to neglect by government.
The monarch said that farmers in the area find it difficult to transport their farm produce to the market due to bad condition of the road.
Oba Idowu said that, “We are suffering here in Ora, we want government to come to our aid and apart from this damaged road, we don’t have drinkable water as we rely on well water for our domestic needs.
“The government health centre here in our community even well equipped, we don’t have manpower to attend to us as the medical officers are running away from staying in the hospital,” Akesin lamented.
Akesin, who commended the state governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, for his people-oriented programme in the state, said “Mr Governor should extend the dividends of democracy to the residents of Ora-Igbomina who are solidly in support of his administration”.
The community leader, who used the medium to invite all sons and daughters of Ora-Igbomina to the forthcoming annual “Ilawa Obalufon Festival”, said, they should all come home as well to Join hands with him in developing the community in order to be ahead of other communities in all ramifications.
“I urge you all to come home and establish industry, as there are sufficient land for such in order to generate employment opportunity for the youths in the community,” Akesin said.
