Osun State government has said that the completion of the upgrading and renovation of the nine Technical Colleges in the state is in the pipeline.
The Chairman, Osun State Board for Technical and Vocational Education, Professor Olu Aina, stated this in Osogbo, while speaking on the state of technical education in the state with newsmen, recently.
Professor Aina, who said that the project had reached 60 per cent completion, noted that the colleges would open the state for technological advancement.
While emphasising the need for the nation to promote technical education, the board chairman said technical education had potential of turning around the nation.
He called on youths to embrace technical education to become job providers rather than job seekers, saying that they should stop running after white cola job.
Aina, who decried the neglect of the sector by successive administration in the country,urged government to pay serious attention to technical education which he described as one of the antidote to the nation’s economy problem.
