Aregbesola tasks critics on public financing
Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State yesterday called on those criticizing him on public financing to learn from the dynamics of governance which is being applied to transform the state. Speaking on behalf of the governor, Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, said this while featuring on the maiden edition of this year’s Guest Forum of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, held at the union’s Mokola, Ibadan Secretariat. The Commissioner who spoke on the topic: Improving Public Finance for Better Governance; The Example of The State of Osun”, described the critics as ill-informed on the alleged debt of N300billion which the opposition was accusing the government of borrowing from banks.
Wondering why the opposition has failed to appreciate the great feats being accomplished in the state by the administration, he said, ‘‘there is no Nigerian bank that could afford to lend the sum of N300billion to any government or institution, So, I wonder what they are saying, I think what the opposition didn’t know is the dynamics of public financing which our governor is injecting into the system”
