Aregbesola and South-West
Many thanks to Azuka Onwuka on his Tuesday, January 28, 2014 write-up on the topic referred to above.
I love to read Onwuka’s articles. I have
copies of some of his past write-ups, including the piece on Yoruba’s
unbeatable religious tolerance in the August 24 edition of The PUNCH as well as that of July 9, 2013 on “The Harm Nigeria does to the North”. His articles are always eye-opening.
Onwuka has rightly hit the nail on the head with his January 28 write-up on “The Harm Aregbesola does to the South-West”.
Sincerely speaking, Governor Rauf
Aregbesola of Osun State is dangerously fanning the embers of religious
intolerance in the South-West and it is only proper that he is cautioned
or forewarned before it is too late. I will particularly call on the
All Progressives Congress leadership, a party that is already being
accused by the Peoples Democratic Party of planning to Islamise Nigeria,
to rein in on the governor; otherwise, the party may not find favour
with or acceptance by the South-West come 2015. If Aregbesola is a true
Awoist, as he claims to be, he should not destroy what Papa Awolowo took
years to build in Yorubaland.
As Onwuka has rightly said, we should all learn a lesson from what is presently going on in the North.
