INEC releases schedule for Osun guber poll
The INEC on Monday released the breakdown of governorship election for
Osun state, which is fixed for August 9.
Breaking down the commission’s activities, INEC Secretary, Mrs. Augusta
Ogakwu, further announced that resolution of disputes arising from the
primaries will run from June 2-August 7.
Election campaigns are scheduled to start on May 11, while collection
of forms for the election by the political parties will be on May
19 at the INEC headquarters.
Other significant dates on the calendar are:
- June 9: the last day for submission of Forms CF001 and CF002 at the INEC headquarters;
- June 16: Publication of personal particulars;
- June 25: Last day for withdrawal by candidates/replacement of withdrawn candidates by political parties;
- July 1: Last day for the submission of nomination forms by political parties;
- July 8: Publication of official register of voters and publication of list of nominated candidates;
- July 23: Publication of notice of the poll by;
- July 24: Submission of names of party agents for the election to the electoral officer of the local government or area council.
Earlier, the commission also released the timetable for the conduct of the
governorship election in Ekiti State.
