Aregbesola’s wife canvasses support for husband
Wife
of Osun State Governor, Mrs. Sherifat Aregbesola, has urged the people
of the state to continue to support her husband by voting for him in the
next governorship election.
Sherifat spoke at the Aregbesola
Campaign Office in Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area of the state, on
Tuesday during a sensitisation programme for electorate on voters’
registration.
The programme was organised by the
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Forum, Bureau of
Communication and Strategy, Mr. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye.
She also urged the electorate not to take voters’ registration with levity, saying it was their power.
She said, “The only way to support and
allow Aregbesola to complete his developmental programmes is to re-elect
him, as he has convinced the people of his ability to develop the
state.”
Sherifat also warned parents to
caution their children not to allow themselves to be used for violence
before and during the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
According to her, parents, especially
mothers, should ensure that they teach their children to always think
about their future when they are approached for violence or any attempt
to rig the poll.
She said, “There are some politicians
who don’t think about anything other than to use youths for their
selfish interest. It is our duties to sensitise our children against
it.”
