Not all abducted Chibok girls will come back –Ayodele

Although 57 of the about 276 abducted Chibok schools girls have managed to escape from their abductors, there are strong indications that not all of them may come back alive.
This was the submission of Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, the Spiritual leader of INRI Spiritual Evangelical Church and President of INRI Widows Foundation during a recent media chat with Sunday Independent.
This, according to him is basically because government is simply playing politics with the issue; hence not much is to be expected.
Ayodele holds that government is not serious about the matter as it is not ready to damn all consequences to secure the release of the girls.
His words: “You see, this is a challenge that calls for national prayer and mourning, yet, government is going about their businesses as if nothing has happened.
“If they want to impeach a sitting governor or president now, all hands will be on deck. They can afford to fast, pray, employ all strategies, hold consultation meetings and do everything to retain him in power but on the issue of this tragic abduction, it is unfortunate that there has been so much talk but little action.
“Now the parents are dying as a result of anxiety, grief and its attendant problems. We can only pray that God will show us mercy and help us out of this imbroglio that is about to consume us.”
The cleric expressed deep sadness at the fact that after more than 90 days of the tragic abduction, efforts at both local and international levels have not yielded the desired restoration and peace, so much so that 219 abducted girls are still in captivity.
The cleric also chided that the present administration is not in a position to fight and eradicate corruption because the system of operation readily promotes evil.
While warning that current spate of terrorism will still spread to the South-West and South-South, he called for serious prayers to avert more deadly attacks and oppression in the land.
Also speaking on the National Confab, the fiery prophet dismissed the possibility of government adopting the recommendations of the delegates. Said he, “The National Confab is just to provide a platform for people to
recommendations, it is certain that government will not use 90 percent of it. Maybe they will adopt two to three per cent of the recommendations made but we should not expect more than that because the confab is just a forum for people to express their yearnings and expectations.
In his characteristic way of foretelling upcoming events at both local and international scenes, Prophet Ayodele, who few days ago predicted the impeachment of the erstwhile governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, warned that there will be similar crises in Edo, Nasarrawa and Rivers states.
“The five governors that decamped from PDP to APC will face impeachment threats.
“In fact, I do not see Nigeria remaining as one because democracy and religion are the core issues that will rent us apart.  Nigeria needs a lot of prayers to survive this situation”, he said.
“We need serious prayers to avert bloodbath as the clock ticks towards the 2015 elections.
“In fact, the wave of terrorism as perpetrated by Boko Haram is not near extinction as we desire. Other terrorist groups will still emerge to trouble Nigerians. This is why we need united and intensive prayers”, he added.
Ayodele also warned the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, to be watchful as there will be series of problems in the Nigerian Police.
Furthermore, the cleric upholds that the All Progressive Congress (APC) should not gamble with the elections in Lagos State, because, the table would turn against them if they forcefully foist a candidate that is not acceptable on the people.
“APC will lose gallantly of it field Ambode as the governorship candidate for the next election. The party should not settle for business as usual and go to sleep. They must watch and play the game well if they want to continue to hold the reins of power in Lagos.”
“Also for next month’s election in Osun State, there will be pleasant surprises. The election will be peaceful though, but the outcome will be big surprise”, he added.
Describing the true essence of governance, the cleric cum philanthropist says, “Governance is about meeting the needs of the people. It is about identifying with them and bringing relief. What does it take for a governor to acquire hectares of land for farming and plant maize, rice and others and employ graduates, artisans etc to work there?
“Not only will they be gainfully employed but they will be productive and free from crime. What does it take to partner with countries where staple food and other basic necessities are cheap so that these can be imported and sold at cheap and affordable rates to the masses?
“This is the essence of governance and that is what politicians must come to accept and practice.”
He therefore called on those vying for political office at the next poll to imbibe the spirit of a servant and be prepared to work in the interest of the masses, not to enrich their private purse or that of the few elite as these are the major factors that birthed the current crises of insurgency that we have in the country.
