NGO lauds Jonathan, warns on smear campaign against Adesiyan

The Chairman of the Organisation, Comrade Semiu Akande in the statement particularly warned the family members of the former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice,Late Chief James Ajibola Ige and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola led Osun State government, to stop campaign of calumny against the appointment of Alhaji AbdulJelili Oyewale Adesiyan,saying that the appointment of Alhaji Adesiyan into the cabinet of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was a will of Almighty God and the enemy of progress should not query God’s work on new Minister of Police Affairs.
Comrade Akande did not only laud Mr. President as he also lauded the Osun State chapter of the PeoplesDemocratic Party (PDP) for nominating the new Minister to represent the State in the Federal Executive Council (FEC), He described Adesiyan’s appointment as a round peg in a round hole.
He declared that the criticisms against the appointment of Alhaji Adesiyan were mere politics and politics of bitterness by the All Progressive Congress (APC) led present administration in the State.
SMN boss stressed that Aregbesola’s government and the members of his party were all out to discredit the hard earned name of the new Minister of Police affairs and ploy to use Ige’s death to seek sympathy from the people of the State who are tired of Aregbesola’s government and are yearning for changes at all cost, ahead of August 9th, 2014 governorship election.
The group averred that the criticisms of President Goodluck Jonathan on the appointment of Adesiyan as Minister of Police Affairs by the APC are baseless, anti-Osun people, anti-progress of the State, misleading, evil and defamation of character, as it warned those behind the project to desist from destructive campaign against the personality of Adesiyan.
He said: It is very unfortunate that the son of the late Chief Bola Ige and Late Justice Atinuke Ige, Muyiwa ,the Osun State Commissioner for lands and physical Planning under Governor Aregbesola’s government cannot differentiate between the case that had been subjected to serious Judaical scrutiny which court of competent jurisdiction has discharged and acquitted those who alleged in the death of late Ige.I will like to use this medium to advice Muyiwa to allow his late father to rest in peace in the bosom of the Lord, instead of using his death to be playing politics.
