Court Dismisses Ex-LG Officials’ Suit Against Aregbesola

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria sitting in Akure has dismissed the suit filed by former political functionaries of Ifelodun local government area of Osun State against the governor of the state, Rauf Aregbesola to pay their alleged outstanding salaries and allowances.
Hon Eniade Theresa and 45 others who served as political functionaries during the regime of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola between 10th January, 2008 and 19th December, 2010 sued the government of the state over the non-payment of their alleged outstanding salaries and allowances and other pecuniary benefits due to them while in their various offices as political functionaries until the Supreme Court on 17th December, 2010 upheld the judgement of the Court of Appeal delivered on 19th March, 2009, voided the election conducted on 15th December, 2007 by Osun State Electoral Commission (OSSIEC).
The Court of Appeal, Ibadan division in its judgement delivered on 19th March, 2009 voided the election which brought them into office and declared their seats null and void.
Hon Eniade Theresa and 45 others on 31st May, 2013 filed a suit against the state government and Ifelodun LG, claiming payments to the tune of N17.18million through their counsel, Hashim Abioye Esq.
