2013 HAJJ REPORT, SAUDI AUTHORITY COMMENDS AREGBESOLA ON E-LEARNING.
The Authority of Saudi Arabia has
commended Governor of the state of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on his
contribution to ‘e-learning’ through the introduction of ‘Opon-Imo’ ,the Tablet
of Knowledge which was a world- acclaimed breakthrough in educational development.
Ogbeni Aregbesola who received the report of 2013 Hajj Operation
at Executive
CouncilChamber in his office commended Commissioner of Home
Affairs,Tourism and Culture, Alhaji Sikiru Adetona Ayedun, SSA to Governor on
Religion, Alhaji Dihkrullahi Hassan and other members of the board for the
hitch free Hajj Operation.
The Governor who was happy with the report said Hajj exercise is
tough and required strength of the Pilgrims where over two million people will
be performing spiritual assignment at the same time. He maintained that Hajj
exercise is not the same as Umurah as Hajj is more rigorous while Umurah is
with ease.
Ogbeni Aregbesola therefore warned the board to take into
consideration the age limit set aside by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria
while insisting on the physical fitness of the intending Pilgrims to be able to
perform all important aspects of Hajj.
Earlier in his report presentation, Commissioner for Home
Affairs, Tourism and Culture, Alhaji Sikiru Adetona Ayedun thanked the Governor
for giving the board all the supports needed to have successful Hajj Operation.
Alhaji Ayedun place it on record that the state was
the first to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia in Nigeria and first to return
to Nigeria. He said all these were as a result of brilliant and welfare of
Pilgrims package the state has put in place since the inception of Ogbeni
Aregbesola administration in the state.
Alhaji Ayedun said the recognition accorded the State Officials
by the custodian of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah at a dinner in honour of
State of Osun contribution to ‘e-learning through the introduction of ‘Opon
Imo’ attest to the fact that Osun has recorded landmark achievements since the
inception of Ogbeni Aregbesola administration.
Also speaking, Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Religion,
Alhaji Dikhrullahi Hassan said the board has put in place the medical screening for the intending Pilgrims so as to ensure physical fitness of
the Pilgrimages. He then thanked the governor for given all necessary supports
to achieve a successful Hajj Operation.
Highlight of the presentation was visual presentation of
activities of 2013 Hajj Operation.
Present at the presentation were Secretary to the State
Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, Chief of Staff to the
Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, Head of Service, Mr Sunday Owoeye, members of
State Executive,Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Tourism and
Culture, Mrs Olajumoke Bello and staff of Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
