Osun Govt. Established Bola Ige Mechatronic Institute
The
State government of Osun in collaboration with the National Automotive
Council (NAC), has concluded plans towards the establishment of a
Mechatronic Institute named Bola Ige Mechatronic Institute in the State
which is aimed at the enhancement of private sector competence training
and entrepreneurship scheme.
The duo of the Commissioner for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban
Development, Arc. Muyiwa Ige and the Special Adviser to the Governor on
Federal Matters, Hon. Idiat Babalola made this disclosure during an
inspection visit to the site of the project located on the Campus of
Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke.Also on the entourage was the Managing Director of Osun State Investment Company Limited (OSICOL), Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji, who also reiterated that the Mechatronic Institute would enable graduates of the tertiary institution to stand on their own and be self-employed.
Alhaji Oyebamiji added that graduates from the Mechatronic Institute would also be able to serve as Consultants to other Institutions that wish to embark on similar projects in the future. He said those graduates would use the opportunity got from the training to go into research work.
Also speaking, the Rector of the Osun State College of Technology (OSCOTECH), Engr. (Dr.) Oluyemi Oke, while applauding the State Government for the laudable project, said this arrangement would compliment similar one being proposed by the Institution.
Engr. Oke said with this Mechatronic Institution, graduates from the College would be free from depending on government for employment and the status of the state economy would improve.
