Osun people have been disconnected from their resources —Wole Oke

A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Defence, Honourable Busayo Oluwole Oke, has lamented the disconnection of Osun people from their resources.
He said because of the disconnection, poverty and economic deprivation have made the lives of the people miserable and difficult, leading to sharp fall in their standard of living.
Speaking during a chat with journalists on Monday, in Osogbo, after the tour of 30 local government areas and area council in the state, Honourable Oke said: “Osun people have been totally disconnected from their resources. This state is greatly endowed with resources and human capacity, but we have a worrisome dislocation in the art of governance and management of resources and this is inimical to our economy. We have huge deposit of gold in Ijesaland, what have we done to it?”
According to him, “Aregbesola has disconnected the citizens of Osun from their resources through capital flight to Lagos while artisans, contractors and other categories of people who should be patronised are abandoned for people from Lagos State.”
While assuring to put an end to policy summersault synonymous with the incumbent administration if he emerged the governor of the state after the conduct of August 9 gubernatorial poll, he also expressed determination to review some of the programmes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led state government, which are not in the best interest of the citizenry.
He recalled that when he was in the lower chamber in the National Assembly, he sponsored over 10 bills out of which four were assented to by President Goodluck Jonathan, adding that Federal Government institutions and presence were also facilitated to Osun State.
