Don’t allow your children to be used as political thugs —Gov’s wife charges women

Wife of the Governor of Osun State, Alhaja Sherifat Aregbesola, has charged parents, most especially women in communities, to caution their children against allowing themselves to be used for violence before and during the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
She spoke at Aregbesola Campaign Office in Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area of the state , during a sensitisation programme for the electorate on voters’ registration, organised by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Forum, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Mr Olatunbosun Oyintiloye.
According to Mrs Aregbesola, mothers should ensure that they sensitise their children to always think about their future whenever they are approached to perpetrate violence or any attempt to engage them in social vices.
“There are some politicians who don’t think about anything than to cause violence through the youngsters for their selfish interest and it is our duty to sensitise our children against it. It is a fact that Mr Rauf Aregbesola’s administration is a peace-loving one and we, as parents need to support him to maintain the peaceful coexistence,” she remarked.
Aregbesola also charged the electorate not to take voters’ registration with levity, saying it was the only power they have to re-elect Aregbesola for continuous development in the state.
She explained that the only way to support and allow Aregbesola to complete his development programmes was to re-elect him, having convinced the people of his ability to develop the state.
Also speaking, the host, Oyintiloye sensitised the electorate to either register as voters or renew their voters cards, so that they can participate in the coming poll.
