Shot Osun Labour Party Chieftain Dies

A chieftain of Labour Party (LP) in Osun State, Mr Tunji Oyelade, who was shot recently by unknown gunmen at his residence in Inisha, a town in Odo Otin local government area of the state, is dead.
Efforts by medical practitioners to save the politician, who was rushed to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, shortly after the attack, were abortive as he gave up the ghost at the weekend.
A close family member, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the late politician died as a result of the gunshot injuries he sustained after suspected assassins laid siege on his residence and attacked him and his wife.
Two mask-wearing men attacked the residence of Oyelade at Oju’run area of Inisa town last Wednesday evening and shot him in the stomach.
After Falade had been shot twice in the belly, his wife, who was also in the house when the attacker came, had her mobile phoneseized and was tied while the operation lasted.
A neighbour of Oyelade, who was simply identified as Muritala, said to have heard noise and rushed to the scene when the attackers shot Oyelade, was also shot in the leg.
The late Oyelade, also known as “Abincin” earlier this year dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), alongside the former Secretary to Osun state government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade Akinbade and moved to Labour Party, where he served as transition committee chairman before a substantive chairman was elected during the recently conducted State Congress.
