Osun LG bosses deny rumour of dumping APC
THE Forum of Executive Secretaries
in Osun State has denied the rumour that its members are planning to
dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for an opposition party ahead
of the August 9, 2014, governorship election. Addressing a press
conference in Osogbo, the state capital, the Chairman of the forum,
Prince Olusoji Ajayi, said it was unreasonable and unthinkable that they
would abandon a performing party, whose governor, Ogbeni Rauf
Aregbesola, has achieved so much for the state in the last three years.
The chairman said the APC was ready for the election and has no reason
to be afraid of contesting the poll because its popularity rating
remains high as a result of the outstanding performance of Governor Rauf
Aregbesola and his team. Ajayi condemned the opposition for instigating
the ‘tiny population’ in the state to attack the education reform of
the Aregbesola administration, saying “we are close to the grassroots
because we among the people and we have ears and eyes among them. We
know their feelings and reaction to any government policy.”
