Omisore Alleges Phantom Murder Charge by Aregbesola
Senator Iyiola Omisore
One of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, at the weekend alerted security agencies, of an alleged plot by the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, to implicate him in a phantom murder case, in a desperate bid to derail the August election.
According to Omisore’s spokesperson, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, the senator had it on good authority that the state governor had contracted a retired Commissioner of Police who is reportedly assigned the task of framing up the false murder charge against Omisore.
He also alleged that a false confessional statement was being cooked-up around an incident at Okuku PDP meeting a year ago where a party supporter died.
He said the plot “is to raise the confessional statement as a basis to charge Senator Omisore to a magistrate court in May or June this year. We were told on good authority that the retired police commissioner was briefed on the assignment late last year and he has started the clandestine assignment before we now got the full detail of the plot.”
He however urged supporters to be vigilant and beware of the antics of a drowning governor. Omisore, a peace loving man has no hand in any murder or violence either now or in the past.
His supporters are being harassed on daily basis with one killed at Ile Ife few days ago and several others injured across the state. He said Senator Omisore himself has been allegedly marked for assassination, all in a desperate bid by the governor to hold unto power when the people have rejected him.
He noted that Omisore wants to place on notice that no amount of intimidation, false accusations and frame up will dissuade Senator Omisore from pushing ahead with the task of rescuing Osun state from the evil grip of a failed government.
“We vow to resist within the bound of law all infringements on the rights of the citizens in their sacred quest to throw off the yoke of an evil cabal,” the spokesman said.
However, while reacting to the alleged plot, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Sunday Akere said Omisore was only crying because he knew he would lose the governorship race in the state.
Akere said Omisore would never reap where he did not reap.
