PDP’ll take over Osun this year - Omisore
ONE of the three gubernatorial aspirants of the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Senatorial Iyiola Omisore,
has boasted that his party will take over the reigns of governance in
the state this year.
Omisore, who was among hundreds of Catholic faithful who attended the installation ceremony of Archbishop Gabriel ‘Leke Abegunrin at the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan, on Friday, made the declaration while speaking with journalists.
He declared that PDP would take over from the current All Progressives Congress administration in the state.
“By the grace of God and by the wish of the people, we’re taking over Osun in June this year,” he said.
On the current leadership crisis rocking the National Assembly, Senator Omisore described the cry by the opposition as a political farce, saying the rules of the National Assembly on House leadership are very clear.
“This issue of controlling the leadership at the National Assembly has become a political propaganda. Our rules in the National Assembly are very clear on what constitutes a majority party. Recently, some parties like the Labour Party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have just agreed to work with the PDP. All the cry is just a political gimmick and media propaganda,” Omisore said.
He, however, advised the newly installed Archbishop of the Ibadan Catholic Diocese to ensure the spiritual growth of the archdiocese.
