The Osun State government  has said that it would continue to embrace support from its well-meaning indigenes on its health care programmes.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Temitope Ilori stated this in Ila-Orangun,  recently during a medical check-up and treatment she organised to mark the 70th birthday of her mother, Chief Omowumi Akande, wife of the interim National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande.
The treatment, which was carried out in three different centres in the ancient town, involved application of drugs for aged people, especially those suffering from hypertension or diabetics and the young, as well as counselling and health education among others.
Speaking at the programme, Ilori said that the mission was a step to assist the government in its bid to restore healthy living among the people of the state.
She said: "I believe health is something that is universal and should not be left for government alone to handle. That is why the government of Osun State would continue to embrace support like this.
"Being a medical practitioner myself, I think this is one step to assist the government in its bid to restore healthy living among the generality of the people.
"People should emulate the spirit of giving back to their communities, spirit of selfless service and community service so that we can work with the government to move the state and the nation at large, forward", she said.
The commissioner then noted that nobody was exempted from the service, as the target was for both young and old from within the town.
Shortly after undergoing the check-up, the Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun commended the initiator of the programme for her commitment, not only as a commissioner, but also as an individual who is making efforts to ensure restoration of healthy living among the people of the state.
The monarch, however, tasked the administration of  Mr. Rauf Aregbesola not to relent in its efforts to see that the people of Osun get the best in health care delivery.
