God will destroy homosexuals – Cleric

The General Evangelist, Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Prophet Kayode Abiara, has expressed support for the new anti-gay law, stressing that it is in tandem with the religious beliefs of Nigerians.

Abiara maintained that God would destroy those practising homosexuality, a statement said on Monday.

He said, “We want to thank God for the life of President Goodluck Jonathan and his cabinet over the issue of same-sex marriage, for his refusal not to compromise. This is very commendable.

“I want you to know that the God who destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah is the same today, God is going to destroy those who practise it.”

The cleric, while reacting to the demolition of one of the churches by the Osun State Government, said Governor Rauf Aregbesola had promised to provide the church with another piece of land.

He also said there was the need for the Federal Government to be more sincere as regards the promise of providing steady power supply this year.

Abiara advised politicians to exhibit the spirit of fairness and sportsmanship during the coming elections, adding that it should not be a do-or-die affair.

He said, “Our government must be very careful for the coming election. the reason God put you in that position is to help the masses.

“Politics is not a do-or die affair, you should not make life miserable for the people, because if you like it or not you will leave that position one day; you should do the work that speaks after your tenure and death.”
